Nacho Eguía

He was born in March 1987 in Buenos Aires

He is a senior professor of music and interpreter and arranger with orientation in Tango and Folklore, specializing in guitar. Received from the Superior Conservatory of Music "Manuel de Falla" in 2011.

As a soloist, he interprets works for guitar of his authorship with influences from popular music, providing a personal look.

In 2021 he released his second album "La imagen en silencio", a work awarded by the National Endowment for the arts. The album is a set of instrumental works, and has the participation of Matías Rullo on bandoneon.

In 2020 his works "The air in play" and "Caprichos porteños" were selected among 80 works from around the world for the final of the 1st international composition competition of Seixal (Portugal)

He participated in the festival "Guitarras del mundo" in several editions.

In 2019 he released his first album "Detrás de todo", which includes solo works and duo works with guests such as Marcelo Moguilevsky, Guido Martínez, Lucas Monzón and Ignacio Romero.

In 2015 he was part of the 140 musicians who participated in the La Música Interior festival, held throughout the country. Musical training workshops were held and concerts were offered in each province, ending with the closing concerts at the Kirchner Cultural Center. His participation was based in the province of Misiones, sharing the work with the Nuñez brothers, Rubén "Mono" Izaurralde, Matías Arriazu, Vivi Pozzebón and Paula Paz.

In 2011 he received the 2nd prize in the composition category with the work "A los botes" and the 2nd prize in the performer category of the national guitar competition organized by the “Guitarras del mundo” festival and Unión Personal Civil de la Nación.

Among other artistic projects is the group "Trina la diuca": a folk quartet that includes a wide repertoire of Argentine folklore, with original arrangements of traditional themes. In 2012 they released their first album, which was very well received by the press and presented at Café Vinyl.

Duo Eguía-Romero: guitar duo dedicated to the interpretation and creation of original Argentine popular music arrangements and compositions for guitar. In 2015 they released their first album "Al Crucero" with the participation of Juan Falú as a guest.

He is co-director and arranger of the "El Guitarrazo" Guitar School Orchestra, a space open to any guitarist interested in the rhythms of popular music on the guitar. The orchestra was founded by Juan Falú and Roberto Calvo and has 3 released albums: "El Guitarrazo", "De Cayos y alegrías" and "A granel"
